#1: Confluence

(visited by John Dag Hutchison)

03-Sep-2006 -- On the way back from a brief visit to the North Cape, the northernmost point of Norway and Europe I realized that I was close to the confluence, parked my car and set out. From the road it seemed to be just over two kilometres. Most of it was straight climbing from just above sea level to a couple of hundred metres up hill. It was an easy climb through gravel, rocks, heather, moss and rocks again.

The weather was fine, but the wind was close to gail force with gusts making photographing difficult.

As can be seen from the photo of the GPS the altitude is 14 metres. That is definitely wrong, it should be between 150 and 250 metres. How this reading came about I do not understand....
