15-Apr-2007 -- Vikersund is about an hour's drive from Oslo. Too short for an Sunday outing with the wife. So we made a detour via Hønefoss where we visited an avant garde exhibition in the old prison, had a snack, walked about in the small town and finally headed southwards towards the confluence point.
It turned out that the CP was situated only about three hundred and thirty meters away from the main road, conveniently straight west from a bus stop. While the wife preferred listening to the radio in the car I happily trotted along through the shrubs. A hundred meters from the road, the forest took over, and in the forest the bird song were overwhelming.
The terrain was easy. In fact I walked on a path towards the CP most of the time, a path made by elks and deer. I saw their droppings and foot prints all over the place. I even heard an animal run away somewhere ahead of me.
