(visited by David Mower and Diane Mower)

19-Apr-2007 -- My wife Diane and I visited this confluence today at about 12:15 PM local time. It was a grey, cloudy day with a bit of a breeze blowing and temperature in the 40s Fahrenheit. This made it rather cool and so we didn’t stay long at the point.

We parked next to two-lane Nevada Highway 361 and walked west over gently rolling desert scrub land with sparse vegetation. It was a short walk, in the low hundreds of meters range. We could have had a shorter walk, but it was difficult to find on off-highway parking spot owing to the very steep road shoulders.

The confluence is in a low gully next to a Brigham tea plant. A nearby piece of straight wire 12 to 18 inches in length with remnant of small flag at one end was likely evidence of an earlier visit. The highway is not visible from the point, but the sounds of traffic are audible. This is remote country, so traffic is probably less than 10 vehicles per hour. Nearby US Highway 50 is dubbed "The Loneliest Highway in America" because of low vehicle counts and widely-spaced population centers.

Thanks for getting us out! It's always magical to see those ten zeroes!
