22-Jun-2007 -- It was a half term weekend and the boys were home from boarding school. We had arranged to visit a friend, Anne Muil, in Kwe Kwe, so we loaded 4 bikes on the trailer Friday morning and drove plus minus 200 km to Kwe Kwe.
Having renewed aquaintances with the Muils, Alan, 12 years old, joined us and we set off on bikes 36 km to the site which was in the direction east towards Sebakwe dam and National Park. We followed roads to within about 800 m and then rode through the bush on an undeveloped farm plot. We had to leave the bikes when we encountered a few fences (a rarity in Zimbabwe today) and walk the last 50 m to the spot which was easily accesible and uninhabited.
We had no real problems except for a puncture caused by the abundance of thorns, and the difficulty in photographing the GPS due to reflection of the face, it eventually lost satellite reception due to our efforts.
