(visited by Rico Melchert, Bodil Eriksson and Filip Söderholm)

02-Feb-2008 -- So, we've had a good start on the confluence year of 2008 with a visit to N60E15 and now it's time for another one.
Only a week after the last one Swedish Geocaching Group sets its target for N60E18.

This is our eight confluence visit, and as such we pretty much just headed for the goal.

We started from Karlskoga, and made a pit stop in Uppsala (about 32km NW of the Confluence), and there we set our GPS's (a Garmin GPSmap 60Csx and MyGuide 4400) to N60E18, and started to make our way towards the ultimate goal.

We made a quick stop on the way to search for a nearby geocache, besides that we just went straight for the goal.

About 1.5 km from the confluence, we parked the car and found some good trails inwards the forest, but after only a few hundred meters we face a small challenge.

About ten or so hunters were standing in our way. Dressed in green with orange caps and rifles over their shoulders.

Faces that said, "What are a gang of city kids doing in our forest". Anyway, Bodil and Filip decided that the best way to get past them was to explain the whole idea of Confluence mapping, and I (Rico) must say they seemed quiet interested.

They sent us of with a greeting that they had not seen any bear or wolf today so we should be safe.

The way leading the confluence was swampy at best so a good pair of Wellingtons is a good idea.

GPS reception at the spot was to be a bit tricky to get perfect, but after 15 minutes or so it stabilized and we got the shoot of the "zeroes".

Another batch of photos and we were ready to return to the car and plan for the next confluence visit, less then 24 hours later.

Enjoy the new pictures!
