14-Feb-2008 -- This is the 9th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 9N 2E.

We are at Doïssa 1.35 kilometres from the Confluence. It is 7:30 in the morning, we have finished packing our vehicle and are ready to take a morning stroll to the Confluence.

We arrived yesterday afternoon, parked our vehicle under a big cashew nut tree and wanted to wait till it gets a bit cooler. It was such a nice place that we decided to set up camp for the night and visit the Confluence only the next morning. Some local young boys were trying their luck with hunting for some rodents around our campsite. After an hour or so they showed up and proudly presented us their killings: a couple of mice and a python, which they caught only a couple of trees away from our resting place.

It was a nice walk to the Confluence. After our return we continued our journey to Abomey.

Continued at 7N 1E.
