03-Mar-2008 -- Another winter wonderland experience. This year we had three weeks of vacation in Norway and Sweden to go on a nordic ski tour near Lillehammer, then go by car further north to Kiruna and start a one week husky tour through the high mountains of Abisko national park. On our way to Kiruna we stopped for two confluence attempts.
This one was successful but not as easy as we had thought. The terrain was covered in deep snow, we had to make our own tracks, and had a fairly high and steep elevation in between. Finally we were awarded by a very nice spot near or almost in the river bed called Storbäcken. Weather and reception for the GPS were perfect, so we enjoyed the moment.
The way back was easier but took almost as long anyway. We like winter time in Sweden and would like to invite all people to give it a try searching for confluences during this part of the year.
