02-Aug-2008 -- After having been on vacations in Cadiz with my girlfriend Raquel, we undertook the return trip stopping a pair of days in Merida, where we stayed with friends. In the trip back home and in company of Angel Villanueva, we set to visit this confluence and the N39° W5° giving “a small” tour of 100 km.

This confluence is about 30 km to the east of Merida, the outskirts of Santa Amalia. It is easy to arrive at the point, since it is less than 200 ms off the highway that goes to Medellín. We crossed the Cagánchez stream and after 30 ms we arrived at the point, located in a field already reaped. I located the point, made the photos and we proceeded to the following confluence.

The days before we enjoyed the visit in Merida. The previous day we crossed the entire city visiting the monuments that it has, because it has an extensive history as the capital of the old Roman province of Lusitania (Emerita Augusta). The only bad thing was the suffocating heat, given the time of the year, but it is worth the trouble. Two nights before we attended a very funny theater representation in the Roman Theater, where the best thing was the surroundings. This is something that I recommend, it was a pretty experience.
