28-Nov-2008 -- This is the 48th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 20N 33E.

Travelling from Wādiy Ḥalfā' alongside the railway line through the Nubian desert we got onto the tarred road at Abū Ḥamad and continued on this road in direction of al-Kharṭūm.

Outside of the town of Barbar, 300 meters off the main road, the Confluence is situated. After completing the documentation, we continued to the Pyramids of Meroe where we set up our camp for the night.

Continued at 14N 34E.
