16-May-2009 -- This is the 66th of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January 2008 at 11N 5E.
Story continues from 31S 27E.
We were driving from Alival-North along the N6 towards East London. Between Queenstown and Cathcart the road passes the Confluence only by a short distance. There is a very run-down picnic place next to the road where we parked the car.
Unfortunately for us the property where the Confluence is situated is used as a game farm and the very high game fence makes it impossible to get to the Confluence. The distance from the fence to the Confluence is only 133 meters.
