07-Apr-2008 -- Well, better posted late than never.

Somewhat more than a year ago we (Jadelynne, my sister and two of my nephews) decided to visit Confluence Point Mecca, realizing that already being in New Hampshire made this obligatory trek a piece of cake.

We loaded up into my sister's van and headed out to find what we knew would be a muddy hike, this being April in NH. As others have mentioned, the CP lies off Depot Road and the trick seems to be to stay high enough so as not to sink into the mud. We didn't find the trail several people mentioned, but straight line through the sparsely wooded area was simple enough.

Photos at the CP and we headed out trying not to pay too much attention to the complaints of cold wet feet.

Just now I called up this point in Google Earth to review the area, and strangely GE gets all twisted exactly at the point as though this first-of-all Confluence Points is being pulled into a black hole. Let that be a warning to all who dare visit! Or maybe it's just a problem with GE.
