12-Dec-2009 -- I, Zhou Fei, and my friend Wang Yaofeng, we are two Chinese engineers working in Angola. Angola had only 6 points visited; it inspired us to find a somewhere-to-go.
Frankly speaking, the confluence 9S 16E is very easy to visit. We checked Google Earth and found that 9S 16E is in a crop field with a road approaching it to about 150 m.
This morning, we came from Malanje. First, we went to the great waterfall of Kalandula, which is only 10 km south to 9S 16E, then back to the main road. Then we travelled to the North.
The road is in construction, and we also encountered a heavy tropic rain. We also tried a wrong branch road because Google Earth was not very clear about the joint point of the approaching road to the main road. But these were only small troubles; we finally found the dirt road leading to the edge of the field.
Beyond our consideration, the field is blocked by some razor coils. In Angola, it usually indicates a land-mines area. We discussed and checked the land-mines area data to confirm that this place is safe.
Finally, after a 150 m long jungle-walk, we reached 9S 16E. There's a tree there. The crop field shown on Google Earth, however, had been dilapidated for years to become a jungle again.
