01-Jan-2010 -- After the new year midnight supper with friends in Caumont-sur-Durance (maybe a little too much good wine?), we need to have some walk to recover our minds. We have a good target: a confluence point is not far. But we visit Avignon first, a very beautiful city with the Palace of the Popes and the famous bridge on the Rhône River. Then we take the road towards the point 44N 5E.

Easy to find with a map or a picture from Google Earth. But it rained much these last days and the small road between the fields to approach the confluence is very muddy. We stopped finally 200 meters away from the confluence, which is in a field. Natalie, Veronique, Francoise and Bernard joined me, but I'm the only one to try to reach the final point. I must say that that the field is full of mud with a lot of water, and it is really difficult to walk on this slippery ground.

Finally, I reach the point, which is in a turnip field, close to a hedge of cypress. Very happy not to fall in the mud!

The sun was already down, and it started to be very dark, I had to make the photographs at 1600 ASA. I made the ritual pictures, then I returned towards the car. And I even succeeded to avoid to put too much mud in Véronique's car...
