#1: General view - looking east

(visited by Allan Mitchell)

03-Apr-2010 -- First visit to a confluence - and an easily accessible one for a first visit. We drove to within about 100 meters in a conventional vehicle.

April in this area is very humid with rain threatening. The tall grass is spear grass which can grow to 3 meters tall. At the end of The Wet (April/May), winds will snap the grass and it will die and probably be burnt by wildfire before the onset of the next wet season.

The site is very close to Australia's first uranium mine - Rum Jungle - which operated in the 1950s and 60s.
