(visited by Gordon Spence)

11-Aug-2010 -- This is a part of the country that I haven't been to in quite a long while, a reminder that although being a relatively small island, it's not that small after all.

My only other visit here was nearly nine years ago, back in November 2001....seems hard to believe, so many things, so many places.

I am heading eventually to mid Wales and so coming in along the line of 52N seems to make sense. I park up in the village, just before some signs.

As I walk up the path it looks a bit different, for starters there is a large empty field on the left. Don't remember that...in the field there is a horse and a Boxer dog (so just like home then). As I walk up to the end of the path I stop and have a chat with the owner of the field and his wife. Making sure to fuss the dog of course!

I then realise that I have come up a different path, so I need to up and to the right a bit along the bridleway. I need to get over an electric fence into a field with some more horses in. This means looping back into it from the path I should have taken in the first place.

Once there I quickly reached the spot, where I had some not very interested bystanders.

I went back out the same way that I came in. If you go just past the signposts I parked by you will find the Old Bakehouse and opposite that the Village Pub. As time was pressing I had to forego slaking my thirst and carry on to my next objective - 52N-03W.

A bit of trivia, my first visit here was only my 5th ever visit, this is my 180th.
