30-Aug-2010 -- We parked outside the gate of the Ovesholm manor and walked into the grand park. Just at the entrance a couple of Landrovers with people left the park, drove alongside one of the fields and parked at the edge of the forest. We walked along the gravel road passing in front of the manor and following the road towards the confluence point which was on the left side of the main building. As we approached the cp we heard shooting from the area where the Landrovers had parked and a man in another car stopped and told us that it was all right for us to walk in the park but we should be aware of the hunting which took place about 600 - 800 m from where we were. He told us that the garden had one of the largest lawns in the country.
The estate has about 12.000 hectars of forest in addition the the cultivated hectars which I cannot remember. Judging from the activities of agricultural machinery in the fields this seemed to the a well run estate. He was a bit surprised to hear about the cp on his land only about a hundred meters from the manor. We gave him the web address and continued along the road til a small road heading stright towards the manor. 50 m from the cp we entered the forest again and made our photos on the actual spot. On the way out of the little forest we noticed a sign board stating that the area closest to the manor was private.
