#1: Confluence point

(visited by John Dag Hutchison and Aase Tveitan Hutchison)

18-May-2011 -- Just after starting up from N55E12 something started rattling under the car. It turned out to be a shield between the exhaust pipe and the chassis which had broken loose. We were lucky and found a small garage which fixed the problem with a pop rivet and charged us just 100 DEK towards their coffee pot.

After a visit to Moen we headed westward and after about three hours reached N56 E10 just south of Århus.

The actual cp was about 245 m from the nearest road. Fortunately there was a ditch between the fields and it was possible to advance that way for about 140 m towards the cp. Then I had to go through a hedge and entered a field of some kind of grains. To avoid stepping on the crops seemed at first impossible, but after a while I found tracks from a tractor in which nothing grew. I followed those to the nearest place to the cp without walking on the crops. The actual cp was about 90 m further on, in a collection of tall trees. Behind those I could hear a cuckcoo.

On the way back to the car I came across a place which seemed to be a resting place for a deer or similar sized animal.
