  51°N 10°E (visit #14)

#1: General view of the confluence (looking W)

(visited by Nils Rennenberg and Baitong)

13-May-2011 -- Continued from 50°N 10°E.

A very easy visit. Heading north on the A7 motorway from the previous point near Würzburg, I continued east on the A4, which I left at the Wildeck-Obersuhl exit. From here it was less than 6 km to go on the L3248/L3250 roads. The CP is at 390 m elevation, in a field south of the village of Blankenbach, Werra-Meissner district, Eastern Hesse.

After stopping the car in an unpaved lane to the west of the road, all it required was a leisurely stroll of about 200 meters. In pleasant conditions (sunshine, EPE = 4 m), I got my zeros at 14:23 local time, two and a half hours after the first confluence of the day.

Nothing special about this point, apart from the following satisfying facts:

1) The visit meant I completed a series of 3 points in a row on the 10th meridian (50N, 51N, 52N).

2) It was my 10th confluence visit in total.

3) It marked the first time I visited 2 confluences in a single day!

4) It was my third point in Germany, each in different federal states - and if I can add 52N9E, 52N11E and 51N11E next (neither of them is very far from my home town), it will be 6 in 6 different states.
