02-Jan-2012 -- A New Year's confluence visit (well, the second day of the new year) in Tarn-et-Garonne. This is a particularly special confluence point because it is situated just 10 km from a more traditional type of confluence: that of the Tarn and the Garonne rivers, which join at Moissac.

The point itself is located not far from the tiny village of Saint-Arroumex, which is itself just off the D15 road connecting Caumont to Lavit. 44N 1E is in the middle of a small field; previous visitors in 2001 noted that this field was used to grow sunflowers, but - being January during our visit - it was completely bare.

The deep mud made walking slightly tricky but, as the point only lies about 70 m from the small road on which we parked our car, it didn't take us very long to wade there.

Views are of fields in all directions. Around 80 m away there is a small vineyard, which still had some grapes left on the vine (and they still tasted pretty good!)
