#1: The confluence of 47° North and 3° East

(visited by Henk Pouwels)

24-Jul-2013 -- This DCP is the second in a row of three, starting at 47°N 2°E.

Driving from 47°N 2°E to 47°N 3°E I passed Bourges, an old city but too hot to visit. The landscape changes gradually from the yellow and brown of an agricultural area to a variety of greens of meadows and patches of forest.

With GoogleEarth and the StreetView function I had prepared myself. So I knew there was a tiny entrance into the forest where I hoped to park my car. To my surprise the entrance is enlarged and no problems to park the car. From here to the DCP is by foot over about 900 m, not a difficult walk. Due to the foliage the EPE of the GPS was 10m and due to the high temperature I made only a small dance. At least I was within the required 100m DTG.

Returning at the car I noticed the very new signs at the tree left of the car. I had missed them while entering keeping my eyes to the ground to avoid trunks and pitches. Future DCP hunters are warned.
