#1: Looking Northeast

(visited by Mahmoud Ezzeldin (Turbo) and Timur El Hadidy)

09-Oct-2013 -- This will be brief, Timur and myself were on a drive back from Abu Simbel after having escorted Robert & Steve in the LR3 which broke the world record time in driving from London to Cape Town. For more information see here.

On our return journey I had planned to visit this Confluence, thought it would be easy, but from all the gold diggings the tracks were like a maze and some times blocked. In the evening we met a couple of Bedouin "Gold Diggers" and it took us some time to try and convince them what we were doing, and why we came here, and what photos and GPS and website are you talking about?

It started getting frisky, but soon things cooled down. It took us a good 45 mins to convince them and for them to trust us. We had some tea, dinner, and I helped their cook with some herbs and veggies left over from our trip and they gave us some dates and we left.

Sadly I did not take a photo of the GPS amidst all the charged conversations with the diggers.
