01-Feb-2000 -- I had concluded some work in Grande Prairie.
As you can tell, it was still winter in this part of the world. This was an easy
site to pick up, although a few kilometers south and east of the main
highway that one travels between Peace River and Grande Prairie, it is
exactly on a country road allowance, so one does not have to trudge
through a field or a forest.
My GPS wandered slightly, causing me to walk some meters north and
south, zeroing actually in two spots. You will note that on one picture (#6)
looking south, the grain bin is quite close. In that picture I am standing at
the back of the car. In another picture looking south (#2), I am getting
another reading indicating I am on the north/south line, but the car is in
the shot and the grain bin is a bit more distant. I understand that the GPS
system has recently become more accurate than it was when I did this
confluence. Anyway, this is what you'll see at N56 W118.
