(visited by Targ Parsons, Peter Snow Cao and Andy Parsons)

03-Jul-2014 -- Story continues from 41°N 122°E.

We made life difficult for ourselves by driving around behind this confluence on a small track and parking some 400 metres to the northwest of it, near a small cornfield, leaving us an unnecessary scramble through a hilltop orchard. The better approach would have been from the main road, just 130 metres east of the point.

Along the way, I snapped a photo of a small, but particularly colourful wildflower. For much of the way, Andy rode on my shoulders and issued directions. The confluence was located on the hillside above some vineyards.

We took the customary GPS and north-south-east-west photos, then Andy and I headed down to the main road, where students were just leaving a school, and waited while Peter went back to get the car.

Story continues at 40°N 123°E.
