22-May-2015 -- Having visited 35N 107W with my 6-year-old grandson in February 2015, I was hoping we'd have more opportunities but the schedule hasn't worked out. Instead, my wife went with me this time on the Friday before Memorial Day. The CP is easy to drive close to - within 1/2 mile from highway 76. From Santa Fe, we headed north on US 84/285 and turned right on county road 88, just south of Espanola. In about 3 miles we hit state highway 76 and turned right and traveled a couple miles east.

Roughly south of the CP we parked and hiked up a steep rocky hill and found our way in about 30 minutes. It's been raining much more than usual lately and the ground was very loose on the hillsides. The best approach (which we came down) is to follow the arroyo north. From the highway, it looks like a dirt road but quickly turns to a rock-filled arroyo. There is cactus everywhere and only a few sparse pinon pines. No noticeable wildlife. The CP itself is on the easterly side of a hill. It was a beautiful NM day, blue skies and partly cloudy.
