27-Jul-2015 -- This was the continuation of a summer trip with several successful confluences.

Earlier in the day we had visited 42N 122W and now were were one degree north and turning west off US Highway 97 onto Oregon Highway 138 and then south onto the dirt NF-70 here. This was a fairly nice road that led us underneath the canopy of large trees and small clearings until we came to an intersection just 90 meters east of the zero point.

My wife and I walked the rest of the way and found all zeroes just east of a tight cluster of three very large ponderosa pines. A short distance away was another large pine with a white metal National Park Service Boundary sign on it which would make this confluence within the boundary of Crater Lake National Park.

The last time we had been to Crater Lake was to spend the night at the Crater Lake Lodge in a Loft Room with our daughters. Several years before that, we had ridden our tandem bike all the way around the lake. On that adventure we had camped and taken the boat to Wizard Island and spent the day hiking to the top before the boat came back to pick us up. What a great place to visit!

It was a beautiful day and the tall trees were attenuating the GPS signal and it was a bit of an effort to locate a spot where the wandering position continually came back to.

Post processing of the GPS data reveals that my GPS receiver was 6.7 meters southeast of the actual confluence with a Horizontal Precision of 6.2 meters.

Total time off Highway 97 was 1:55 with 47 km driving. We spent about 30 minutes at the confluence.

Our next goal would be 44N 124W!
