30-Jul-2017 -- This is the 8th out of 13 reports reaching confluence points in Finland. The story starts from 61°N 28°E and continues from 62°N 23°E.
We drove to the town Laihia and parked our car at the outskirts of the town at the end of Kyijyntie Road at a distance of 555 m. This was the largest distance of parking of all 13 confluence points.
We tried to be smart with our approach on foot in such a way that we took a route over a meadow instead through the nearby forest. But the meadow turned out to be deep swamp. Walking was wet and slow. At some places the reeds were high and sharp. We were glad to reach the forest, where walking was quicker and more pleasant.
The confluence is located in a mixed forest of pine and birch, surrounded by moss-overgrown boulders. The ground is covered with various greens. Right next to the confluence point there is an anthill.
Of course we took another route back which went entirely through the forest. We were able to follow trails, most likely tramped by moose.
