15-Dec-2017 -- Line hunting after work is done and before the flight out

After we finished our work in Lilongwe, there are virtually no real tourist spots to check out, and going after this conference point was the most sensible thing to do before our flight in the evening. After the easy hunt for the 14S 31E in Zimbabwe a few days earlier, there was no need to do any arm twisting to get the group to go for this closest point from the capital.

The best thing about this hunt is getting out of the city, and it did not take long to get into the real country side. It was about 25 km drive to reach 230 meters from the point. We walked through a cultivated field, passed a shed, and found the point about 15 meters from a creek.

The folks living at the shed and three dogs joined us at the conference point for the photos. Again, this was a relatively easy hunt, and gave us a chance to see a little more than the city.

Rating of this hunt:

Degree of Challenge: 1 – Drive up to within 250 meters from the CP with an easy walk. (1= very easy - drive to the point; to 5= a death march – glad it is over)

Scenery: 3 – Small stake holder’s farm land with some interesting hills nearby. (Scale: 1= not interesting at all; 5= take your breath away)

Culture-social factors: 3 – Rural Malawi, very basic living condition. (Scale: 1=dull; 5= most stimulating)
