11-Mar-2018 -- It is a long time ago I could submit my last confluence, but probably not all confluencers have already forgotten me.
En route from Colombia to the Dominican Republic with a cargo of coal today
we passed the Canal de la Tortue, the narrows between Île de la Tortue and
Hispaniola, at which entrance we find the confluence 20N 73W.
Looking to the East we see the western end of Île de la Tortue, to the South the mountain ranges of Haiti on the Island of Hispaniola, to the West the open Sea with parts of Hispaniola, and to the North there is nothing but the open Sea.
Coming closer to Île de la Tortue we see the beautiful lighthouse of Île de la Tortue West Point, listed in the International List of Lights with Nr. J5412.
As the Canal de la Tortue is quite windy, yachting is fun there.
