08-Jul-2018 -- Many webpages have outdated information about this location, which was remodeled in late 2017. These are currently accurate:
As of July 2018, the old "Geological [sic] Marker" sign is gone, and Gesicki's Bar (the original home to the 45x90 club) has long since closed.
Visitors are now treated to an accessible path, reaching about 1/5 of a mile from the roadway--incoincidentally named Meridian Road--with several new benches and accompanying signage.
A small tourist information center in the town of Wausau (219 Jefferson Street, about a half hour drive into the East) has a guest notebook you can sign, as well as free commemorative coins.
This was my first confluence visit, completed to mark my 45th birthday. My wife and I made the drive from Milwaukee, which was about three hours one way. I hope to be back for my 90th!
