27-Jun-2018 -- Serendipitously I had the chance to have an extra holiday. I used my time for a trip to Japan and did a bicycle trip on the main island Honshu. While this I could manage to visit some confluence points. The seventh and last one was the CP 36°N 139°E, located in the region Kantō.
I took the road 43 from Minano, direction south west. The picture #07 is showing the valley from Chichbou and with the mountains containing the confluence point, around 4.3 km in the background. On the good tarred road I came closer to the CP. I took the road to the right on a forking, 1.8 km away from the CP and stopped at a Buddhist temple, 1.5 km in front of the CP. Two very impressive guards are protecting the temple from evil coming in. So I could pass the gate...
After the short break I continued my way up and soon I reached the end of the road, shown on my OSM-map. At luck the street continued another 640 m, nearly direct leading to the CP! Around 220 m before the end of the road a "Healing Resort" appeared! It looked like a camping ground with cabins only. But everything, except the rest rooms, were closed and nobody was to be seen. I parked my bicycle at the washing place (see picture #11) and went the last 170 m by feet. In 102 m distance to the confluence I reached the dead end of the road, took the picture of the CP-location, direction west, steep up the hill, and started climbing up. It took me only a view minutes. The terrain was not very overgrown, so I could reach the exact location quite fast. Around 09:30 a.m. I found all the zeros directly on a felled tree and did the necessary pictures. It is a very bright forest because of the many felled cedar trees. I was very warm with a high humidity. So I was happy to start the downhill now!
Together with 35°N 139°E this was my most eastern visit of a confluence point and unfortunately it was the beginning of the end of my holidays in Japan.
