  47°N 7°E (visit #8)

#1: View to north

(visited by Thomas Barthel)

26-Jul-2018 -- During the summer holidays direction Pyrenees I had the chance to visit some confluence points. On the way back to Germany I visited the confluence 47°N 7°E.

We came from Genève on the motorway A1. On the southern end of the "Lac de Neuchâtel" I took the A5, which is located at the north eastern side of the lake. 38 km later we passed the town Neuchâtel. After another 6 km we reached the exit near the "Marin-Epagnier". The CP is located only 1.5 km beeline from the motorway exit. A few roads later I found the correct access to the lake. The road in named "Rue Des Terters". Unfortunately it is a private road with a "Do not pass" road sign.

I had a quite heavy inflatable SUP board in the jet bag, which I didn't want to carry all the way down to the shore. So I drove down, until a chain prevented any further access to the bathing beach. During packing off my things, an elder woman came out of a gate and explained, that it would cost thousands of Euro if the police would come. So I hurried up and took an official parking lot in a neighboured street.

Now I prepared the exploration to the CP, which is located in the lake. The distance from the little pier was shown with around 450 m. Some people were bathing. It had been good weather conditions for the visit with a SUP board: warm temperatures, low wind, hardly any waves. After putting the equipment into a wet proof box I started paddling. At the direct confluence point I made three circles, but despite the good satellite reception, it was not possible for me to get all the zeros in the GPS display. After 55 minutes on the water the visit was fulfilled.

Together with my family I enjoyed this beach until sunset.
