Wir fahren ungeplant, wegen dem schönen Wetter, in einige zugängliche Dörfer des Donaudeltas. Dazu nehmen wir kleine südliche Straßen. Unterwegs bemerken wir, dass wir sehr nah an diesem CP vorbeikommen.

In Sarichioi versuchen wir vergeblich einen Bootsfahrer zu finden. Aber man sagt uns, dass an einer Station am Kanal vor dem CP jemand ist, der uns mit dem Boot eventuell fahren kann.

Zwischen Izurile und Colina verlassen wir die Straße und fahren über eine schlechte Piste bis zu einem alten Pumpwerk und da noch einmal etwa 500 m Richtung Osten.

Von da laufen wir rund 900 m zu der benannten Station. Die Bewohner sind freundlich. Das Boot ist unterwegs und mit ihrem großen Traktor kommen sie nicht über den großen Kanal.

So gehen wir so nah es geht an den CP heran und machen die möglichen Fotos.

Wir fahren weiter bis Donavatu de Jos und finden einen Bootsbesitzer, der mit uns ins Delta zum Lacul Solomon fahren will. Leider springt der Motor nicht an und erst als wir dann mit einem anderen Boot unterwegs sind, bemerkt der Fahrer, sass wir es im Tageslicht nicht zu den Pelikanen schaffen. Es war dennoch eine eindrucksvolle Exkursion.

Wir fahren am Abend bis zum Kloster Saon in Niculitel an der Donau und übernachten auf dem Parkplatz.

Due to the beautiful weather, we take an unplanned trip to some accessible villages in the Danube delta.

We take small roads to the south. On the way, we notice that we pass very close to this CP.

In Sarichioi we try in vain to find a boat driver. But we are told that there is someone at a station on the canal close to the CP who might be able to take us by boat.

We leave the road between Izurile and Colina and drive along a bad track to an old pumping station and then another 500 m eastwards.

From there we walk about 900 m to the station named to us. The locals are friendly. The boat is on its way and they can't get across the large canal with their big tractor. So, we walk as close as we can to the CP and take all possible photos.

We drive on to Donavatu de Jos and find a boat owner who wants to take us into the delta to Lacul Solomon. Unfortunately, the engine doesn't start and by the time we're on another boat, the driver realizes that we won't make it to the pelicans in daylight. Nevertheless, it was an impressive excursion.

In the evening, we drive to Saon Monastery in Niculitel on the Danube and spend the night at the parking lot.
