06-Dec-2000 -- Two weeks after hearing about confluence.org, my wife Nicole and I decided to try our nearest point, N42 E3. It's the first point in Catalonia and in Spain to be attempted.

Wednesday 6 December 2.000 (holiday in Spain)
The confluence is located in Corçà, Baix Empordà, Catalunya, Spain. The journey wasn't difficult. We stopped our car 500m from the point, walked inside a small forest, crossed a small dry river and, as the GPS marked 50m to go, found a wheat field. Since it's now winter, we walked around to find the closest side in order not to destroy the field walking on it. It was 13:00 UT 14:00 local time.

Our etrex marked N42º00’00.0, E003º00’00.0, 92m with a distance of 1.55 meters to the destination.

Thirty minutes later we were eating in a local restaurant. We spent the afternoon buying pottery in the nearest village La Bisbal d’Empordà. We had a good day and we decided that this won't be our last confluence.
