04-Mar-1998 -- While I (Alex) was off visiting Becky and Louis in Oklahoma
we decided to do a few degree confluences. So we set off with all sorts of
technical equipment -- cameras (digital and film-based), GPS's, a sport-utility
vehicle, a tiny palm-top computer and Stephen Hawking to guide us.
It was a windy Oklahoma day (by my standards). Our destination was in a cow
pasture right next to a house. Fortunately, no one was home, so we went
trespassing. Becky declined to cross the fence, fearing the worst. The most
exciting feature was a certain item left behind by cows now far across the
field (see picture).
No shotguns or irate owners were brandished, so off we went to the second one
of the day, 58 miles to the west.
