14-May-2001 -- We liked the idea, so we got on our 4X4 on Monday, 14 May 2001 (a regional public holiday commemorating the independence of our region) and after driving through beautiful mountains we approached (ca. 1000 meters) our target confluence. Then, the fun started! After driving up a steep hill (coming in from NE) we approached (300m.) the confluence - but no cigar!
We had to back-up and try an approach from from SW. After 2-3 Km of dirt road, a small river crossing, and a cultivated field, we came close to 200m from the confuence, where we had to leave our car and climb up the hill.
It was a beautiful day, the fragrance from the fields mixed with that of freshly cut wood made it even better and rejuvenating indeed. We had some fun, trying to get all zeros (absolute accuracy) on our GPS, getting into the bushes and around the trees, and when we finally got it out came the camera and tried to take as good pictures as we could - while trying not to roll down from the cliff...
I hope you enjoy our photos as much as we enjoyed our 'confluence hunt'.
