#1: Looking southwest from the point into the crowns of mixed hardwood and pine trees.

(visited by Larry Mays)

01-Apr-2001 -- I was going to Jackson, MS, from Minden, LA, on business, so I decided to make a side trip to this confluence point in Morehouse Parish. I drove from Minden to Bastrop, LA, and then north on US 425 to LA 142 and followed it NNW to White Arkansas Road. Five miles west of LA 142, White Arkansas Road turns north after it crosses Tram Road at the Couters Neck community. The degree confluence point is about 100 yards west of the road a half-mile north of Couters Neck. It is in the edge of mixed woods behind an old home place. Carolina jessamine (jasmine) blooms dotted the leaf litter, fallen from the vines above in the trees.
