29-Apr-2001 -- I stumbled across the confluence.org website shortly before I left on holiday to Morocco. We decided to attempt the 31N 7W confluence near Warzazāt if we had a spare day.
Armed with two cameras, GPS and a couple of bottles of water we set off on foot into the desert. After climbing two large hills the Confluence was clearly visible in the desert below. The ground was littered with shrapnel and blown-up cars. It was a tank exercise area of some sort!
Fortunately not in use today, and we successfully reached the Confluence. The strange thing was that it was really close to civilisation (1-2 hours walk from the nearest houses), but there was nothing in sight, just mountains and desert.
We walked 15 miles (24 km) that day and slept very well indeed when we returned to the hotel.
