English version

23-May-2001 -- German version:

First A&A Expedition to CP 52°N 13°E".

English version:

On 23.5.2001 I visited Henrik at the East German championship in hanggliding at the airfield "Altes Lager". I took the opportunity to visit again our first CP "first A&A expedition to CP 52°N 13°E". From Berlin I traveled again with the course. Henrik fetched me from the station "Altes Lager". Immediately thereafter we drove to the place, which I already knew. But what a surprise: From the winter landscape a flowering meadow became. I turned on my GPS and went again to the 2 months old landmark. And, wow!, it was still there. Only the coordinates had somewhat changed. Hmmmm... Have unexplainable tectonic processes happened since then? After briefly zeroing the GPS I was 20m North-East of the old point.

This was a further good proof of the accuracy I can count on with my GPS (including all error). Know-it-all GPS-users should try such a reproduction of their location after a longer period, before they speak over THEORETICAL accuracies!

I still spent all day long with the competition. I then still fetched the non-airfield-landed Hendrick with his "post office auto". More pictures of the day on my (Picture) Homepage and of the hanggliding club.
