21-May-2001 -- The point is about forty miles south of Austin, NV, in the Big Smoky Valley. Big Smoky Valley runs north-south between the Toiyabe Range on the west and the Toquima Range on the east. The point is about 150 feet southeast of a county road in a flat, arid, sparsely vegetated environment.
