15-Jun-2001 -- Friday June 15, 2001: Visit at Noon
After a brief visit to the Kuopio marketplace (renowned for its good atmosphere) it was time to continue the trip towards 63N 28E, which was close - just about 30km eastwards from the city.
The confluence was the closest one to a road we had yet discovered; only 25 m away, on a farm field. Walking to the exact spot wasn't a good idea since the freshly sown crops had just begun to sprout and we didn't want to trample them.
Lake Karhonvesi starts right after the farmfield, and is close nearby also in the opposite direction (although it is hard to spot through the trees). The peninsula where the farm you can see in the northern view is located has probably been an island in the past.
Our pictures don't do justice to a pretty Finnish countryside view, it was beautiful and peaceful (apart from the abandoned old car nearby, it seems almost every farm household has one).
