03-Sep-2001 -- We first heard of this project, only a few weeks ago, and we decided right away that this would be a great GPS practice for us. We started from our hometown Reyðarfjörður at 19:20 and our mission was to find the spot before 20:00.
We did not make it on time but it was not far from it.
If you are wondering why we had a time limit, it is because it would be harder for us (you have to run but not walk) and that is more practice for us, but if you are wondering what kind of idiots we are, running for confluences, then I will tell you that we are a small SAR (Search and rescue) team from Reyðarfjörður.
The trip to the spot was easy, we went there in our Landrover Super jeep and stopped about 600 meters from the spot and the rest we had to run but that was just fine for us (and more practice) We found the spot just beside a small stream. We took the GPS reading and then pictures to North, South, and East and of one of our members on the spot. We will try another spot maybe next weekend (65°N-15°W or 65°N- 16°W) but we will not do it on time because it is a longer trip than this one.
And finally GREETINGS to all confluence collectors.
