#1: General view of the confluence.

(visited by Jacek Pachocki)

26-Aug-2001 -- During my vacation in France I decided to visit another confluence. The nearest one was the 48N 2E confluence.

When I started driving I have not expected this to be the most difficult confluence of all I have ever attempted to visit. When I was about 2km from the place it turned out to be somewhere deep in a forest. The road that led into the forest was blocked and there were signs forbidding the entrance by car. I drove further looking for another possibility. I passed several other roads pointing the right way but they all were blocked. Finally I made a big circle and came back to the same point. I decided to leave the car and walk. The first 1700 meters were easy. The last 300 meters were very difficult. The forest was almost unpenetrable. I was passing signs of some animals living there. I was there alone and an idea of bumping into a wild boar made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless I continued walking until I was just 29 meters away. Then I had to give up. I couldn’t get through the vegetation. JP.
