25-Nov-2001 -- This is the first degree confluence I've visited and I was able to convince my best friend, Joe Carroll, his girlfriend, Kelly Morris and my sister, Gisele to join me.

The confluence, about 30km from our houses, was on public land, so permission from land owners wasn't necessary.

We were actually able to travel on paved roads to within 732m of the site using a linked Garmin eTrex GPS and laptop computer for satellite navigation.

The road across the public land is closed to cars on weekends, so we parked and walked about 200m along an old cleared boundary line, then bushwacked through the woods the remainder of the distance. The underbrush was often very thick and made for a very indirect path. 732m turned into about 1.5km of actual walking to an area with relatively few trees but lots more of the aforementioned underbrush as the pictures can attest to.

Unfortunately the pics of the GPS are fuzzy because I got too close with the camera. I may check the area out again this winter and if it's easier to snowshoe out than hiking was then I'll try to get some better pictures.
