#1: View from the confluence

(visited by David Thompson, Ada Thompson, Jamie Thompson and Vicky Thompson)

24-Dec-2001 -- Kiga, NSW

Continued from 30ºS 150ºE.

This confluence has been previously visited by Owen Foley et al, however we decided to drop in on it anyway given that it’s on our way and appeared to be quite easy based on Owen’s report.

It is pretty much as Owen had described it and very easy to get to from the Newell Highway.

So that was the last planned confluence visit on the way up to Brisbane. Such are the distances in Australia, that after crossing the NSW-Queensland border at Goondiwindi, we still had another 400 kilometres to drive before reaching our ultimate destination of Caboolture on the northern outskirts of Brisbane. We now have two days (Christmas Day and Boxing Day) to recuperate before heading back to Melbourne.

Continued at 29ºS 152ºE.
