(visited by Mark Blakemore)

06-Mar-2002 -- I made it but have no pictures.... ARRRRRGGGGGG!

The description for this one says "difficult", I would say it was "difficult PLUS".

I work for the Jicarilla Apache Nation in Dulce and took our Trimble ProXRS (sub-50cm accuracy) along. After a 2 hour hike to the confluence I took out the digital camera only to find the battery was so low it wouldn't even turn on. Totally aggravating. I built a little monument of rocks and left a business card under the second and third one from the top; my only proof I reached the confluence.

The hike in from J139 (tribal road) involved crossing 4-5 canyons with very steep sides. It is possible to use some existing logging roads in places but following them will generally lead you way off course.

I will return to this point in the summer (with batteries) when I have a chance and will probably approach from the east this time; the approach from the west is a slog.
