02-Jun-2002 -- Visiting 64N,24E
Attendants: Pyry Heikkilä, Teemu Koivusalo and Kari Karvonen
I, Kari, was sleeping at sunday morning until my GSM wake me up. I answered and soon I figured out that the caller was Teemu. Teemu told me that he has something special now. Teemu, Pyry and Sami had read an article from Helsinginsanomat newspaper about confuluence.org. Somewhere in Kannus there is a confluence point which is not yet registered on confulence.org, so we decided to go there before someone else does.
I, Teemu and Pyry jumped in Teemu's Corolla and we headed to Kannus city. according to our map the 64N,24E confluence point should be somewhere near Märsylä village. And best of all, near a road. As expected, it was close, the distance was only about 200 meters. We left the car and headed intto the forest.
Forest was dry and tangled. Walking through it wasn't pleasant, at least not wearing shorts and sandals. Luckily there were no mosquitos or horseflys. After walking a few hundred meters we found the confluence point. It was in the middle of a tangle. We build flag and took few photos. After taking photos we headed home. This was our first confluence point, but probably not last.
