#1: View to the north

(visited by Tom Hall)

02-Jun-2001 -- Our Coast Guard Auxillary Group Unit 54 Campbell River did this on a practise run on the Coast Guard Vessel Point Race which is a 70 foot Search and Rescue Vessel.

Even with Captain Tom at the controls we could not get the GPS to read 000 on both lat and long at the same time. We have pictures of the GPS on one or the other but electronically it flips over pretty quick when you are on a boat even as steady as the Point Race.

As a bunch of volunteers we had fun doing it. I heard about this cool project from our new safety guy Will Dirksen at work. He is going to try a confluence to the west near Gold River B.C.
