This confluence is located in Alftafjördur fjord 270 m west of its the eastern shore. This attempt to reach it was done during a 1402 km cycle tour on north Iceland.
Started from Litlibaer in Skötufjördur at 08:40 in 12C temperature and a light drizzle. The road follows the shore and despite just an 8 km distance as the crow flies, I reached Alftafjördur at noon.
The closest point on the shore is at 65 degrees 59 minutes 54.6 seconds N, 22 degrees 59 minutes 42.8 seconds W, 273 m from the confluence. A rock a few meters to the west is 270 m from the confluence. This was the closest I got. Elevation was zero, of course. The landscape type is a fjord landscape in the low arctic, a few small birches could be seen a bit up in the hill side at a few places. Two whooper swans were seen 300 m to the north (In Icelandic, the fjord's name 'alft' means swan).
