#1: An example of the type of country - rugged!

(visited by Kent Farrell)

25-Jan-2001 -- Last year I was travelling through Iran. At the time I was not aware of the Confluence Project. My trip was aimed at skiing in the Dizin Region and I had my GPS with me and tracked my route. My family and I had a great time skiing! I would recommend Dizin to all skiers.

I recently became aware of and visited the Project site and while reading about different places, I recalled that I had passed close (well that can be questioned) to one of the unvisited confluence points. This is a pretty remote area so I thought as no other CP in Iran had been posted, this might stimulate someone to make a more honest attempt.

In any case the first photo shows the type of country and at the time we stopped to get a photo of a large lake. My photography skills are clearly lacking as I managed to include the wire fencing (the blue line) in the photo.

Co-ordinator's note: Although the DCP usually won't accept visit reports where the visitor did not do an active search for the Confluence, in this case we decided to post it, nevertheless, as in any case it's only an attempt and it might contain some valuable information for future visitors.
