(visited by B Treloar)

22-Apr-2003 -- I attempted this confluence whilst on a Geocaching trip through SA & Victoria. (There is a cache located at this confluence now).

I approached from the Nelson township, turning off the main road onto another road which went past a refuse tip.

Then using Moving Maps on a laptop connected to one of my GPS units, I circled the Confluence following the fire trails indicated on the 1:25,000 e-maps I was using.

The closest point I obtained was still over 800 metres, through very thick scrub. I backtracked to the rough location described in the previous finder's visit notes. Here I found a fire trail that went in for approx 400 metres, then became too overgrown, so I parked here.

I then followed one of the forks in the trail on foot (very overgrown foliage, at times I lost the trail even though I was standing on it !). I approached the confluence point and within seconds had obtained the required 00000 readings. (4 m sat accuracy at the time).

I managed to obtain this reading multiple times quite easily over the next 10 minutes. Also filled out the log book on the Geocache loacted at the spot, and then departed the area via the route I used to come in. I thought the visit would have been quite difficult, as suggested in the attempted earlier find, but was in and out in one hour.
